Regis de Ramel is a visionary aviation entrepreneur, building a legacy of innovation in private and charter aviation services.
FOUNDATIONS
de Ramel’s deep-rooted connection to aviation traces back to his great-grand-uncle, Norman Prince, who learned to fly at the Wright brothers’ school and was instrumental in founding the Lafayette Escadrille during World War I. This squadron was pivotal in the early days of American combat aviation.
de Ramel began his career at CMD Investors, Inc., part of F. H. Prince & Co., where he honed his business skills in real estate development. This experience laid the groundwork for his future entrepreneurial ventures in aviation.
CAREER IN AVIATION
Air Newport: de Ramel founded Air Newport, an air-taxi service, which he successfully ran until its sale in 2003.
Cirrus Aircraft: He then joined Cirrus Aircraft as a Regional Sales Director for the Mid-Atlantic, where he leveraged his expertise to drive sales.
Stratus Alliance: In 2007, he co-founded Stratus Alliance, a charter operation tailored for business travelers utilizing Cirrus aircraft.
Advanced Lancaster LLP: By acquiring assets at Lancaster Airport in 2009, de Ramel expanded his reach into aircraft services.
Wings Field: In 2011, de Ramel secured the contract to manage Wings Field in Blue Bell PA, broadening his portfolio to include flight training, charter services, aircraft management & maintenance, and FBO services.
Aero Ways Inc.: In 2014, he took over Aero Ways Inc. in Wilmington, DE, further expanding into worldwide air charter, aircraft management, and maintenance.
flyADVANCED Aviation Group: By 2015, de Ramel had unified his aviation ventures under the flyADVANCED brand, streamlining operations and solidifying his presence in the Mid-Atlantic region.
LEGACY
Regis de Ramel’s career is a blend of legacy, entrepreneurship, and a deep personal passion for aviation, leading to the creation and growth of flyADVANCED, which embodies his vision of continuing his family’s aviation legacy into the future.
de Ramel holds a degree in economics from Washington College, Maryland, and earned his private pilot license at nineteen. His personal passion for flying is evident as he occasionally pilots charter flights himself. de Ramel lives in Delaware with his wife, Sofia de Ramel, and their six children.
